COURSE OVERVIEW

TV PILOT (5 WEEKS)

You will collaborate to build a fully functional TV film set under the guidance of an experienced TV Producer and Production Designer. The project simulates a real-world TV production, with you participating in every stage, from rehearsals and technical runs to filming. You will edit their own version of the pilot. The budget allocated for this project is $1,000.

SYDNEY STORIES (MAJOR PROJECT)

Working as a film production company, you’ll work with your classmates to create three 23-minute films connected by a common theme: Sydney. Each film will have a budget of $1,000, and the production companies will be responsible for handling pre-production, filming, and post-production. You will have three different specialisations across the films, allowing you to gain in-depth knowledge and experience in your chosen fields. This project includes a 7-day shoot for each film, followed by a week for pick-ups, and in post-production, you’ll focus on editing, visual effects, and film marketing (including press kits, trailers, and networking).

FINAL SCREENING AND GRADUATION

Once your films are completed, each will undergo a professional sound mix and colour grade, and all your hard work will culminate in a screening at the Ritz Cinema on the big screen for your graduation.

Graduates of the Advanced Diploma have exceptional employment rates in the industry.

Advanced Diploma graduates may apply for an exclusive exchange scholarship with the École Supérieure des Études Cinématographiques (in Paris).
