DIRECTING FOR SCREEN 

Jason Perini is a director, writer and actor. In 2016, Jason wrote and directed his short film ‘The New Empress’. The short stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and was produced by Dana Brunetti as part of the Jameson First Shot project. The film premiered at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles.

His directorial debut feature film ‘Chasing Comets’ had its national cinema release in August 2018. The film played in over 90 cinemas across Australia. Subsequently, Jason was nominated for an ADG award for ‘Best Director in a Feature film’ (Under $1mil) in 2019. In late 2019 Jason directed a series of commercials for global brand Hewlett Packard.

The short film ‘A Little Bit Behind’ which Jason co-wrote and starred in has won awards internationally. Jason won ‘Best Actor’ in Australia & at the International 48hour Short Film Awards in America. The film screened at the Cannes Film Festival shorts corner in 2012.

‘Kitchen Sink Drama’ in which Jason also played the lead was a finalist at Tropfest Australia in 2012, screened at the New York City International Film Festival and won ‘Best Comedy’ at the BrownFish International Film Festival in New York.
